The Divine Rod Company hand built fishing rods from the late 1870's through the mid 1930's. This innovative rod maker is largely overlooked and often misrepresented by fishing historians. As a result there is more fiction than fact known about this early American rod company. Michael Sinclair's "Fishing Rods by Divine" finally shed some light on the mysterious Divine. Michael found the Divine shop to be a small group of talented artisans who produced finely crafted bait and fly-casting rods for over half a century. Divine's products were competitive with other great makers of the time. Please stay a while, peruse these pages, and learn why Divine earned it's name.
Most of the information in this page was paraphrased or excerpted from Michael Sinclair's book "Fishing Rods by Divine". (With Michael's permission of course.) If this page stimulates your interest in Divines, please take a look at the book which is detailed in The Divine Book.
